Model Steam Trains

Model steam trains were the first form of mechanical transport to hit America, just after the civil war in 1865. So these fine machines are part of out heritage, most people don't know much about the train’s beginnings.

Railway enthusiasts and steam train collectors are totally aware of the significance of steam trains and how they have helped today’s society. The steam train was the first form of transport that allowed people to travel right across America. It also allowed goods and services to be quickly shipped from one place to the next.

Steam trains are powered by coal; this was then burned to create kinetic energy to move the train forward. It was a simple design that worked well and can be seen in many model steam trains today.

These trains were later replaced by the electric powered trains, similar to the ones we still have today. These trains were cheaper to run and were much faster than the old steam trains. So the steam trains were replaced and much of our history was lost.
